The World is Moving, Stay Focused

MRI

CT Scan of my head and 5.6 earthquake.

So, yesterday morning (8am) my Mom picked me up and we went to Urgent Care at SF General Hospital. This is a drop in clinic for those who have no medical insurance. Remember I already went to ER last week and my 13 hr experience.

There were about 4 people already waiting for the door to open and I would be number 5. While waiting I recognized this one lady who was in ER the other nite. Funny, she was dressed as a real man with eye shadow. Today, she had on a tie and wore some kinda uniform like she was a toll taker. She asked to pick up this couples cute little baby out of her stoller. Then without waiting for an answer, she picks the sleepy child up! Of course the baby starts to kick and cry so she hands the child to the Mom who puts her back in the chair. Why anybody let thier child be picked up by a crazy stranger? Don't think they understood English. I tell ya, this lady wouldn't stop talking. She spoke way too loud and way too much. She talked like she was tweeking, bi-polar or somethin. She told everyone she was 1/2 white and 1/2 black and was homeless. My Mom say's she wonders how she got that way since she was kinda pretty. Then she left her belongings sitting on the hallway hospital floor, asked all of us to watch her things and left. Finally they opened the UC doors I pulled the third number and we sat down waiting our turns.

Later Mom told me the homeless lady came back, sat next to her saying to Mom... "You look rich" and Mom say's well, thank you, but no I'm not. The homeless lady then said that she left a leather coat with her stuff. (I had on a leather coat) Then the hospital police came and escorted her out.

So there I was in the examining room with the nurse practicioner manipulating my head into a dizzy frenzy they take two viles of blood, check my blood pressure and temperature. (I'm 124/71) Nurse looks shocked as if they assumed it would be high. She suggests I get a CT scan of my head. (Gulp)

I don't know if you've ever experienced this MRI Tube, but it's like going into some sort of Sci-Fi Transporter. It makes loud clicking and thumping sounds as though Mr. Spock made a mistake. If you are clostrophobic I suggest you never get into one of these things. I somehow felt an errie comfort and coldness while shivering in a thin hospital robe and surface blanket.

While waiting for the test results, my Mom and I ate herb chicken, brocholli, rice with gravy in the lunchroom. Needless to say I'm still waiting for the Metamucil to work. Anyways.... we went back up to the Urgent Care waiting room and I sat next to a seemingly normal looking guy. My Mom and I were talking about what ever happened to Whittney Houston, cause I watched The Bodyguard movie the other nite. The guy overheard this conversation and I motioned to him that we were talking about Whittney. Within two minutes of saying hello to this guy he comments on how good OG looked... meaning My Mom was an "Old Gangster" and that he was on crack for 20 years and his friend had a stroke. Weird how people confess these things to me.

After I went back for the CT results the nurse told me the results were normal, meaning that I don't have a brain tumor or cancer. Guess I didn't realize the extent that could have been. She tells me to focus on one thing like tunnel vision and not to turn my head to fast. So, I'm OK, but still dizzy and start to exit the Urgent Care and this guy is standing there waiting for me. He then says his nickname, from back in day. Funny in our light conversation, we both used to roller skate at SF Beach and in the hood. When he said his nickname... I couldn't believe it. I remember him. "Turtle" OMG... he was a cute 13 yr old kid whom my play big brother's would always say to call in case someone bothered me and they wern't there for protection. Turtle.. after all these years still roller skates, plays his base guitar and still dances like a 15 yr old. My Mom was even impressed with his fancy moves right there in the waiting area. We slapped a High Five and left. Sorry folks... although he was cute, he also was short and looked like a turtle.

Earthquake

So I feel a little better and go to a temple service. After chanting, I'm sitting there meditating in the SF temple listening to the spiritual medium give me words of guidance and the entire building starts to shake. It's an earthquake and nobody budged! Everyone just sat there quitely meditating when I mumble EARTHQUAKE!!!! Wondering should we get outta here? I take this as a serious message from the spiritual world to hold fast even though the world is shaking around you. Be strong and not waiver.

Happy Halloween!!!
