Financial Aid Has Arrived!

Got Loan

Financial Aid is wonderful when you don't have to pay it back. In this case, after I graduate, they are going to want the minimum payment including interest. Luckily student loan interest is low. And hopefully before then a job will be forthcoming.

I'll have to wait another month before the actual check arrives but I'll survive. I also got my tax refund in the mail. OOoohhh Hooo... BIG CHECK.. all but $6.00. Other GOOD News is I got Work Study. Means that I'll be able to work for pay in the Media Lab where I live most of my life anyways. The Lab Director and I are friends and he told me to just let him know what my hours are and we'll meet next week. He had the biggest smile on his face when I told him today. I'll be working for beans, but at least I'll be able to afford the dollar menu at the nearby taquaria.

Almost finished with my DVD. Well.. at least as much as I can do. I have until Thursday to finish. That means for the next two days I'll be in the lab until they close. Final Class we have to show what we did. I'm excited about mine for what it is, as I still have to finish editing the footage that they shot of my show a few weeks ago. And I'm also planning on doing an animation. But since I was working on my Masters Projects, this DVD class has taken a back side, until after the Grammy show was finished. Now I'm just trying to play catch up with more than impossible assignments that I'm planning to do after the class is over. So much to learn in that program, and I wish I had more time.

The DVD Overall is Looking Fabulous.
I'm just a perfectionist as an artist. And always want to present my best.

I still have to adjust a few menus, attach songs to some type of visual image and do a an email page with website connections. Tomorrow I'll do the website connection and reajust the page sizes. After it is finished perhaps I'll post a few pages here. Then wouldn't ya know....

JURY DUTY

Yes, yours truly has been called into service to honor her city on the 23rd of the month to put on trial some poor bloke. Hopefully I'll be put on standby and have to call in everyday without that going down and sitting around until they call your name and assign you a courtroom. Can you tell I've done this before? Yes, even once I got picked to be a jury member. Not fun it was (in my yoda voice). But met a nice little old lady. We shared lunch and shopping tips.

All I can say it's the worst thing for a guilty person who goes on the stand. Especially if he is missing a few frontal teeth, and who's girlfriend shows up with a red boufant wig. He was guilty as guilty could be. He left behind some cig butts on the basement floor of the house he was trying to break into. When the owner came home and busted him. The thief ran down the street, running right into a parked police car yelling... I don't know why they are chasing me! As another officer tracked him down. El Stoopido..... Now how many folks smoke "Player" Brand Cigs?

School Starts on the 26th and Lasts Until June 4th.

Have these people lost they're ever livin minds? I mean they expect us to to attend classes every day... I MEAN EVERY DAY from 9am til 7pm with no days off. Ok.. was this poor planning on their part? Cause Memorial Day Weekend (May 28th-30th also Carnival weekend in the city.) This is during that time and I'm planning on going to RENO! So I guess they'll miss me greatly cause I'm not going to miss that! I go every year with my dear sweet Mom, we bring a lunch basket filled with goodies and a bottle of wine!

Ohhh.. I look forward to this as my summer vacation. Even though it is a turn around trip on the bus. We spend one nite there then turn around the very next day and ride all the way back. It's real quiet coming back.. but going down... we Party Hardy! They play games, tell jokes, sing songs, play dorky old folks blues type music, eat fried chicken and I feel like one of the geriatric crowd. They've come to accept me as they're bodyguard. Funny how little old ladies can't find they're way around a casino. They just start walking then ask... Which way do we go?

STOPPPPP... Look at the signs.. Ok This Way! I'm such a good protector of my Mom's friends.

My house is looking cleaner, funny how people picked up my 3 bags of clothes I put out on the sidewalk already. I'm contemplating organizing the hotel lotions, shampoos and little bars of soap. Time to throw out that dried up bottle of finger nail polish and put all my old cologne in one bottle, to be used as air freshener.

First Holy Communion.

Of my little cousin's yesterday went so well... later he said the wafer tasted sour! tee hee Drove my Mom making our way through the Bay to Breakers traffic, and over the Bay Bridge to Oakland. It was nice to hear the lovely Catholic Gospel Music. Gosh how they put some soul into the service these dayz. Funny thing is, it was the same church my father and sister went to visit, as his sister was one of the original organizers of that same gospel choir.

Then would you believe that afterwards. There was this guy that I've known for years who was friends with my aunt who was the Nun.

He even came down to Houston with me when she was ill. He's much older now but is still quite a gentleman and is now the Dean of Fine Arts at Laney College in Oakland. Wish me luck as I'm going to apply for a teaching job there. Maybe he can pull some strings. I also invited him to my cousins house afterwards and we ate Bar-B-Que and had a good time talking. As my mother had never met him and she thought highly of him. Later we went to look at a bronze statue he sculpted for East Bay MUDD. The Utilities District over there. I remember when I first met him. I was 18 then and my aunt brought him to my college for me to meet. Back then he was the currator of the Oakland Museum.

He's a brilliant man, kinda short, very sure of himself, drives a gold Seabreeze convertible, owns a big house in the Oakland Hills and is someone I admire dearly. But more like a long lost brother. Whats wrong with me. Gotta feel that Magic I guess. Somehow I have a warm fuzzy feeling about him. Don't know what that means. Perhaps my aunt is smiling down upon us.

Ok.. better go... DVD Class tomorrow, then BART ride to the Mission and work on project in the Media Lab at New College until they close.

Hugz n Lub Everyone and THANKS for the words of encouragement as I clean my heart out! Bebe da FairyGodMum

Just a reminder for my buddhist friends.

Memorial Day Weekend is the Water Consolatory Service and Lantern Floating for the Victims of war, family and friends and forgotten Spirits regardless of religion, race, beliefs, friends and foes alike without distinction. Maybe you will see the reports on the news as it is taking place in Hawaii that weekend. And is a beautiful Japanese tradition that sends off the deceased to a higher ground. Wish that we could all go one year together, as it's the most beautiful sight to see the lanterns floating on the water at dusk.

Hugz again, Bebe FGM
